It can be difficult to keep up to date with the ever changing league table. If you don't buy the 'Pink' then you don't know how your team is doing week by week. There is a free program written by a guy called Nigel Thomas that allows you to do just that. As well as producing the league table, though, you can also keep track of many other statistics such as squads, scorers and (if you really want to) referees. With this program you can have all these details on your very own computer so you can study them at your leisure - very useful at the end of a season like this one!
The really good news is that you can do all this without having to do all the hard work yourself because you can download both the league and weekly updates from this very site!! Please note that I will only keep track of the weekly results and Whitburn scorers. If you wish to to keep other information then you will need to enter this yourself.
First download and install the program
The first thing you need to do is download and install the league tracker software. Here is the link to follow
Click on the Ltrack 4.8b Base link. When asked whether you want to Save or Open this file choose Save and make a note of which directory you saved it in. The download should take less than 5 minutes.
You now need to unzip the file wherever you wish to store it on your hard drive - normally a folder in your program Files directory. You can then make a shortcut on your desktop to the program as follows :
a. Right click on the desktop to display the pop-up menu.
b. Select NEW and then Shortcut
c. Enter the path to ltrack32.exe in the command line edit box
(eg. c:\Program Files\ltrack32.exe) and click next.
d. Enter the title, eg 'Ltrack' and click finish
Now copy the East Region division from this site
Now copy the league table into your League Tracker folder.
Again save this file when prompted.
If you have managed all of that then you are set up ready for action! If not then email me and I will try to help you out.
How to use the Tracker
When you run League Tracker select the East Region file to open and you will see the league in all it's glory. The program is pretty complicated but has online help. Bear in mind that I only keep the Whitburn scorers so if you support another team you might wish to add your own club details.
How to update the league
To update the table all you do is click on the update button. You don't even need to be connected to the internet to do this - it will dial in for you! Click proceed when ready, close when done and hey presto your table is updated!
